Dr. Khalid Al-Sultan, the Director of the Dhahran-based King Fahd University for Petroleum and Minerals, said the initiatives launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the care of the talented and spread of innovation and knowledge investment culture in the Kingdom had their great impact on the achievement of qualitative and quantitative leap of Saudi Arabia's innovation process in the last years. Dr. Al-Sultan lauded the launch of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Prize worth more than one million Saudi Riyals for honoring the best ten female and male innovators and the talented in the scientific, technological and intellectual production fields. He suggested that the prize would help promote the innovation society in the Kingdom and contribute to developing the fields of science and technology. He also suggested that the establishment of King Abdulaziz and His Men Foundation for Promotion of Talent and Innovation was a real turning point in the march of innovation in the Kingdom, citing the recognition of the International Union for Innovators Unions of Saudi Ibtikar (innovation) exhibition 2010. He gave an account on his university's organization of a number of innovative activities, particularly during the current summer season.
