Under the royal directives for transporting emergency aid to victims of floods in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the 13th plane of the Saudi humanitarian relief airlift today arrived here at the airport of the city of Multan in Punjab province. This came as part of the second phase of Saudi airlift's flights which cover the cities of Punjab province. On the other hand, the 4th plane of the airlift's flights landed this evening at the airport of city of Lahore, capital of Punjab province, where it was received by Abdulaziz bin Ibrahim Al-Ghadeer, Saudi ambassador to Pakistan; representative of the Ministry of Finance from the Saudi side; Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, Member of the National Parliament and son of the Prime Minister of Punjab Province; a number of ministers from the Government of Punjab and other officials from the Pakistani side. Ambassador Al-Ghadeer oversaw the delivery of the plane load which includes medical and relief materials to Pakistani side to be distributed to victims of floods. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Shahbaz Sharif stressed that the arrival of relief assistance to the airports of Pakistan reflects the strength of relations between the two countries and the fraternal positions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its people under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud towards Pakistan. "Saudi Arabia always precedes everyone in meeting the humanitarian assistance and stands by Pakistan in difficult circumstances", he added.
