King Saud University and King Fahd University for Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) have attained advanced positions at Shanghai International Professional Ranking of Higher Education. King Saud university for the second consecutive time ranked 391 in the list of the best 400 universities. Meanwhile, King Fahd University for Petroleum and Minerals ranked 480 in the list of the best 500 universities. Minister of Higher Education Dr Khalid Al-Anqari said the classification of Shanghai depends on quality of education and quality of members of the academic staff as well as researches conducted by the university's personnel in addition to the published researches and the number of researches mentioned in the scientific references. The Minister highlighted the great support extended by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah ibn Abdul-Aziz, Crown Prince Sultan ibn Abdul-Aziz, and Prince Naif ibn Abdul-Aziz, the Second Deputy Premier and Interior Minister to the educational sector.
