The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General addressed the citizens of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the advent of the holy fasting month of Ramadan, which falls tomorrow. In a joint speech, they cited verses of the holy Quran and sayings of Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) on the divine precept of the ritual on all able adult Muslims. Addressing male and female citizens, they reminded them that the month is yet another chance for everybody to win Allah Almighty's mercy and forgiveness. In this month, we all witness how humans provide help and become kind to each other; how the rich feel the sufferings of the poor and how Muslims strive to outdo one another for winning the contentment of Allah Almighty, the King and Crown Prince said. They reiterated that our religion is a faith of amicability, mercy and tolerance and that it follows the approach of goodness, reformation and construction through dialogue and effective participation in building the human civilization. Emanating from this, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which was graced by Allah Almighty to have the honor of serving the two holy mosques, always undertakes its responsibility towards defending this religion, work for the service of Muslim interests, enter into dialogue anew with the world's other cultures, societies and religions aiming at building a civilized and cooperative world that would be based on the concepts of peace, justice and faith for all mankind, the statement said. In conclusion, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and his Crown Prince Sultan said this holy month entitles us to reiterate the commitment of our souls towards those values and goals, wishing all fasters to tolerate this kind month and win its rewards.
