King, Crown Prince address people of Kingdom and all Muslims on the advent of Ramadan JEDDAH – King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Premier, Defense and Aviation Minister and Inspector General, addressed the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and all Muslims on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, which begins Monday. “Ramadan has set in with its days and nights bearing mercy, forgiveness and rewards from Allah Almighty,” said the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince in a joint address read by Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdul Aziz Bin Mohieddin Khoja Sunday. The souls have tranquility and people vie to do good deeds. The Qur'an, which was revealed in this holy month, brought light to the world and the believers contemplate on the sense of justice and dignity the verses of the Qur'an instill, the two leaders said in their joint address. “Muslims feel it as a great bounty that they are in a condition to fast in the holy month. Thanks be to Allah for this bounty. During this month, kindness, sympathy and mercy prevail, following the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). “We ask Allah Almighty to make the advent of this month an opportunity for the Muslim Ummah to draw great lessons from this holy month – to seek rejection of schism and disunity; to achieve fraternity where the able would stand by the weak, the wealthy would support the needy and the oppressed will forgive the oppressor. Hence, they will build a tolerant society where people coexist peacefully, preserve the rights and respect the limits.” The King and Crown Prince thanked Allah for bounties and blessings He has bestowed. __
