A policeman was killed and two more were injured in a special operation, when two gunmen were destroyed here on Sunday. Two gunmen were blocked in a flat of a nine-storey apartment building in the Leninsky district of Grozny. Police commandoes, the regiments of Chechen special task police forces number one and two (named after the late Chechen president Akhmat Kadyrov) and the special task police unit Terek were involved in the special operation, a source in the republican Interior Ministry told Itar-Tass. Chechen Interior Minister Ruslan Alkhanov controlled the special operation. The gunmen entrenched on the eighth floor of the nine-storey apartment block, the source said. The flat was stormed to destroy the gunmen. A policeman was killed and two more were injured, no civilians were injured. "After the murder of the district police chief and the commander of the police squadron, who came under fire in their car in the village Chernorechye about a week ago, all police forces were involved in the search operation for the killers," the source underlined.
