Four Chechen militants and a Russian police officer have been killed in a gunfight in Chechnya, Xinhua quoted news agencies as reporting today. A further three officers were wounded. "Three men and one woman who offered armed resistance to police officers, were killed in the special operation," the Itar-Tass and the RIA quoted Chechen Interior Minister Ruslan Alkhanov as saying. Two of the gunmen have been identified, the official said, claiming that they had taken part in attacks against the North Caucasus police in Grozny.
