Two people were shot dead early Sunday during an argument about land, DPA quoted Greek state radio as reporting. A 68-year-old man shot a 55-year-old man and his 53-year-old wife with a hunting rifle, police said. Two bystanders were also injured in the attack. The man then barricaded himself in his house, in the central Greek village of Raches, while continuing to shoot. Police negotiated with the man, who eventually left the house "shooting wildly around him," eyewitnesses said. The man was lightly wounded in the following attempts to disarm him, the radio reported.
