based al-Jazirah said the recent meeting held in Jeddah between the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah ibn Abdul-Aziz and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas comes in line with the recent tour of King Abdullah of a number of Arab countries. Meeting with Mahmoud Abbas is an important development due to the fact that pressures are put on Abbas to accept direct negotiations with the party which is determined on going ahead on its expansionist policy as well as aggression against the people of Gaza strip, said the daily adding that the Arab follow up committee has authorized Abbas to take the decision of approving direct negotiations. Abbas is in front of two options: either to return to the table of direct negotiations and listen to what Israel dictates on him under the American patronage or to go back to the policy of armed resistance, said the paper noting that actually Abbas is on the horn of a dilemma. --more
