Cairo-based al-Ahram and al-Akbar newspapers have shed light on the Saudi-Egyptian summit due to be held in Sharm el-Sheikh today. Al-Ahram said the summit is held at a time when the Arab causes are in need of continuous coordination and consultation from the side of the effective powers in the Arab world notably the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Egypt. The paper reiterated the influential role that could be played by each of the Kingdom and Egypt in the region under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah ibn Abdul-Aziz and President Mohammed Hosni Mubarak, who are known of their wisdom and thorough consideration prior to taking decisions. Meanwhile, al-Akhbar said the important Arab causes are in need of coordination and consultation between Riyadh and Cairo. The paper hoped that the talks of King Abdullah and President Mubarak would positively contribute to further cementing bilateral cooperation in a manner that serves mutual interests.
