The White House on Sunday condemned the release of classified information by online watchdog site Wikileaks. In a statement released by the White House Press Office, National Security Advisor General Jim Jones said that the "United States strongly condemns the disclosure of classified information by individuals and organizations which could put the lives of Americans and our partners at risk, and threaten our national security." The nearly 92,000 documents dating back to 2004 until 2009 were released by Wikileaks to the New York Times, Britain's Guardian newspaper and Germany's Der Spiegel news weekly before the site itself posted them on Sunday.
