The 13th Arab conference on fighting terrorism was inaugurated here today with the participation of various Arab countries including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Speaking at the conference's inaugural session Dr Mohammed Koman, the secretary general of the council of the Arab interior ministers, expressed appreciation for the role of Prince Naif ibn Abdul-Aziz, the Second Deputy Premier and Interior Minister and who is also the Honorary President of the council of the Arab interior ministers, as well as the other Arab interior ministers for their continuous support to the joint Arab security work. Dr Koman said terrorism constitutes the most dangerous crime in the contemporary time adding that poverty and ignorance constitute the most important elements which feed terrorism. Meanwhile, Dr Koman pointed out to the important role which could be played by the media as regards confronting terrorism and crime. The recommendations of the conference will be submitted to the secretariat general of the council of Arab interior ministers for approval.
