Secretary General of the Council of the Arab Interior Ministers Dr Mohammed Koman has underscored the importance of coordination of regional and international efforts for confronting the phenomenon of narcotics. In a statement issued on the occasion of the international day for combating narcotics, which falls on June 26, Dr Koman called for vigilance in confronting drug smugglers and forging cooperation among the concerned authorities in this regard. He noted that the Council of the Arab interior ministers, whose honorary president is Prince Naif ibn Abdul-Aziz, the Second Deputy Premier and Interior Minister, has worked to set up a general strategy for confronting the menace of drugs. The international day for combating drugs constitutes a good opportunity for the awareness of the people against the menace of drugs, he said.
