GCCIA implements 1st component of GCC Grid Phase III

The Gulf Cooperation Council Interconnection Authority has commenced the implementation of the first components of Phase III of GCC Grid.
55% of the double circuit 400 kv line from Salwa to Sella(UAE) and associated substations have been completed, in addition to the completion of 35% of switching station in Sella, UAE. Moreover the protection and controlling of Sella linkage to the main control center in Ghunan, Saudi Arabia is underway. The projects are expected to be completed in first half of 2011.
