The Minister of Commerce and Industry, Abdullah Ahmad Zaynal Ali Reza, who is also Chairman of Board of Directors of Saudi Standards and Quality Organization (SSQO) has said that the number of establishments authorized to use the quality mark increased by 140% of the target, laboratories accredited by the Organization by 400% and recommendations to grant export certificates for food products to exported factories by 271% for the past year. The minister stressed the Organization's keenness on implementation of policies aimed to support various development sectors, consumer protection, and national market as well as control of phenomena of cheating, dumping, and counterfeiting. The number of Saudi standards accredited last year is 2059, raising the number of approved standards to approximately 16,723 Saudi standards in various fields since the Organization's inception .
