A total of 28 illegal immigrants landed in Malta on Sunday after being rescued from a sinking boat - the first arrival of would-be African migrants on the island in 2010. The group - 22 men, five women and a baby - were taken to Malta after they were found on a sinking rubber dinghy by Maltese and Libyan patrol boats some 44 nautical miles south of the Mediterranean island nation, dpa reported. The nationalities of the migrants had yet to be determined, Maltese officials said. The arrival of the 28 marked the first by would-be immigrants this year on Malta, following the arrival of 1,475 in 2009 and 2,775 in 2008.
