France's Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner expressed deep impression about the Kingdom's marvelous antiquities, currently on display at Le Louvre Museum in Paris, lauding the cultural treasuries the Kingdom was accommodating over history. In a statement to the Saudi press Agency (SPA), the Minister said after having toured the exhibition that the 300 collections give a rare opportunity for history-seekers to get acquainted to important points about past incidents in the history of the region. For his part, the Saudi ambassador to France Dr. Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh said the exhibition reflects the deep cultural aspect of the Kingdom, noting that the event attracts some 10 million visitors from different nationalities. On cultural cooperation between Saudi Arabia and France, Al Al-Sheikh said the Louvre Museum and the Higher Commission for Tourism and Antiquities of Saudi Arabia have signed an agreement, focusing on training and cultural excavation. He added that the exhibition comes within the King's initiative for dialogue. For her part, Bahrain's Minister of Information Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa lauded the idea of displaying historical materials at such a renowned European theatre. In a statement to SPA, she expressed pride to see such an exhibition which exhibits valuable historical pieces within the endeavor to preserve international humanitarian heritage.
