The failure of a company specialising in package tours to Turkey has stranded almost 4,000 foreign tourists, the Interfax news agency reported Tuesday, according to dpa. More than 1,900 Ukrainian tourists were left without a way home, before the Ukrainian and Turkish governments purchased plane tickets for them, according to the report. The report identified Ukrainian International Airlines, the former Soviet republic's state-owned carrier, as the airline running charter flights to bring the Ukrainian tourists back home. The Ukrainians reportedly would all return from Turkey by the end of the week. Turkish ambassador to Ukraine Berat Ildyz identified the travel company unable to pay to return tourists home as contracted as Karya Tour, according to the report. -- SPA
