One person was killed and another two wounded in a shootout in Makhachkala, the press service of Dagestan's Interior Ministry told Itar-Tass on Monday. The accident happed near the building of the republic's prosecutor's office at 04:15 Moscow time, when unidentified criminals in a car opened fire on a police squad that stopped a minivan to check. A policeman and a driver of the minivan were wounded. Another policeman died of wounds in the hospital. Criminals drove away from the scene of the accident. The search for criminals is underway.
