The National Water Company (NWC) has announced that it carry out a pilot start-up for wastewater Airport Plant No. (1) in Jeddah city during this month - God willing. This plant is functioning in accordance with the tertiary treatment technology for wastewater at a total cost of SR 370 Million. NWC stated that the pilot start-up of the plant will be carried out in phases starting with 60,000 cubic meters/day until it reaches the maximum capacity of 250,000 cubic meters/day, as the it receives sewage from the northern districts of Jeddah. NWC also demonstrated that the components of the plant, such as sticking sand, grease and oils remove-unit, biological treatment unit, ventilation unit, final sedimentation unit, returned and excess sludge pump unit, disinfection and filtration unit, chlorine injection unit and sludge dewatering unit are covered with slices of GRP and equipped with odors exhaustion and treatment (Odor System), according to a latest NWC press release. --MORE
