An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale jolted northeast North Sumatra Province, Saturday at 8.18 am Western Indonesian Standard Time (WIB). The quake's epicenter located 0.43 degrees northern latitude and 98.59 degrees eastern longitude, at a depth of 16 km below sea level, around 67 km northeast Tanah Masa, North Sumatra, or 129 km southwest Padang Sidempuan, North Sumatra, according to ANTARA.
