Zainab and Ruqaya, the Iraqi Siamese twins seeking successful separation surgery, arrived in Riyadh today coming from the Iraqi city of Al-Najaf. With a Saudi medical team on board, a Saudi medial evacuation plane picked the couple to Saudi Arabia upon directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud who ordered that necessary medical tests be conducted for them to probe the possibility of performing a separation surgery at Riyadh National Guard King Abdulaziz Medical City. At Riyadh airbase, the two Siamese twins, accompanied by their parents, were received by National Guard Health Affairs senior officials. Rushed from the airport to the hospital, they found Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabee'a, Minister of Health and leader of the medical team, and Dr. Ghanem Alwan Al-Jameeli, the Iraqi ambassador to the Kingdom, waiting for them. For their part, the parents of the patients expressed gratitude for the "King of Humanity" for his humanitarian gesture, wishing him continuous health and happiness. The operation, when performed, brings to 28 the number of Siamese separation surgeries done by King Abdulaziz Medical City for patients coming from 16 countries.
