Two police officers have been killed and one wounded in an attack on an entry post of road police in the Derbent city in the Dagestan republic overnight. The press service of the Dagestani Interior Ministry told Itar-Tass on Sunday that "at about 00:30, Moscow time, unknown gunmen from automatic weapons opened fire on the southern post of Derbent's traffic police, after which disappeared from the scene." The Vulkan-5 interception plan has been activated in the city. At present, the search for the criminals continues. The wounded policeman has been hospitalized. Criminal proceedings have been instituted into this fact under two articles of the Russian Criminal Code: "attempt on the life of law enforcers" and "illegal turnover of weapons and ammunition."
