Kuwari, highlighted the deteriorating humanitarian situation of Palestinians in the occupied territories, particularly in the Gaza Strip. He condemned last week's Israeli raid on the aid flotilla, which he said is “a flagrant violation of international and humanitarian laws, norms and conventions”. He stressed the need to lift the siege on Gaza immediately and allow aid and reconstruction supplies to the Strip. He also highlighted the importance of supporting projects and programmes being carried out by UNICEF for children and women in the occupied Palestinian territories and in neighboring countries.
