UAE police foil multi-billion-dollar bid to defraud bank

Abu Dhabi police and the United Arab Emirates
Central Bank foiled a bid to defraud a bank in the Gulf state by some
14 billion dollars, investigators confirmed Saturday, dpa reported.
Two of the three suspects were arrested, police said.
According to the head of criminal investigation, Hammad al-
Hammadi, the main suspect was an Iranian man wanted for similar cases
worldwide.
