European commission chief Jose Manuel Barroso urged countries to support the ailing euro as the bloc grapples with a financial crisis that has caused the currency's value to plummet. Barroso said it is important to help "keep the euro a strong and credible currency" and noted that its level against the dollar is now above the euro's launch rate. Barroso was speaking Wednesday in the Lithuanian capital at a summit of countries surrounding the Baltic Sea, AP reported.
