Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao is meeting with European Union officials about the global financial crisis and climate change, Associated Press reported. Wen also plans to sign multimillion-euro (-dollar) cooperation agreements during his visit Friday to EU headquarters. It is Wen's first visit to Brussels in five years as Beijing aims to forge closer ties with the bloc despite disagreements over Tibet and human rights. EU officials say European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso is expected to raise touchy subjects such as human rights. China canceled a summit with the EU a month ago to protest talks held between French President Nicolas Sarkozy and the Dalai Lama.
