Secretary General of the Federation of the GCC Chambers of Commerce and Industry Abdel-Rahim Naki has urged the member states to unify their legislations and statutes organizing trade among them. He also called for the unification of laws pertaining to specifications and measures for boosting exchange of commodities. The Secretary General proposed the establishment of a Higher Customs Commission, comprising representatives of official authorities and the private sector, to undertake the supervision of the customs performance. Speaking at a seminar jointly organized recently in Kuwait by the General Secretariats of the GCC and the Federation as well as Kuwait's Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Naki underlined the importance of providing the entry points with qualified cadres.
