The 2nd Saudi Maritime Forum ended Wednesday its scientific sessions, which were attended by more than 30 speakers from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and abroad for in-depth discussions on the current challenges facing the shipping sector. At its seventh session, held here this morning, logistic issues were reviewed in all its perspectives. At the end of the session, Eng. Tariq Al-Marzouki, the Chairman of the Forum, said Saudi Arabia has eight ports at the Red Sea and the Arab gulf coasts in addition to a ninth port for minerals at Ras-al-zoor. These ports have been provided with sophisticated equipment and safety means for reception of all ships , he said, adding that there are 184 wharves at these ports and they are capable of handling 250 tons of goods annually. --MORE
