Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, paid a get-acquainted visit this evening to the House of Representatives in Berlin as part of his official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany. He was received by Berlin House of Representatives Speaker Walter Momper and a number of parliament members. At a special ceremony, Momper welcomed Prince Salman, wishing him a good stay in Germany. He expressed his country's interest in further strengthening cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in all fields, particularly the scientific field. For his part, Prince Salman expressed happiness to be in Germany, thanking his hosts for warm welcome and generous hospitality accorded to him and his delegation. He conveyed to them the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General. He called for the exchange of high-level visits among officials of the two countries, citing the recent visit of Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel to the Kingdom. He described her meeting with King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz as successful. In his capacity as Governor of Riyadh Region, Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz extended open invitation to German city of Berlin officials for visits to Riyadh Region to discuss ways of cooperation and other exchanges between the two cities. Then he graced a dinner party held in his honor. Prince Salman was accompanied by a number of princes and officials.
