Minster of Transport Dr. Jubarah Eid Al Suraysiri, who is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saudi Ports Authority has underscored the importance of the 2nd Saudi Maritime Forum-2010, due to be organized here on May 30, 2010. The Forum will be organized by the Saudi Ports Authority in cooperation with Jeddah's Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Al-Faris international group for conferences and exhibitions under the patronage of Prince Khalid al-Faisal, the Governor of Makkah province. In a statement to The Saudi Press Agency, Dr Al Suraysiri said about 1,000 experts and researchers concerned with shipping and ports from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and abroad will participate in the 3-day Forum. He noted that the Forum will provide a good opportunity to exchange views on issues pertaining to shipping, adding that the participants of the Forum will review international shipping industry, maritime treaties, the impact of shipping industry on the maritime environment, the importance of gigantic containers, the Saudi ports and other related topics. Dr Al Suraysiri noted that the Saudi ports have been witnessing a great development in various domains.
