An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale jolted the eastern Indonesian province of Maluku on Friday night. The epicenter of the quake which struck at 09.53 p.m. was in the sea 257 km southwest of Tual town in Maluku or 348 km southeast of the provincial capital Ambon at a depth of 146 km, ANTARA quoted the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) as saying in its official website. The quake did not have the potential to trigger a tsunami, it said.
