Switzerland saw turnover in the retail sector decline by 0.9 per cent in March, in a seasonally adjusted comparison with the previous month, official data released Friday showed. According to the Federal Statistical Office, excluding fuel, the retail sector saw a seasonally adjusted drop of 0.7 per cent, led by falls in sales of food, drinks and tobacco. The non-food sector showed positive growth of 0.3 per cent, the provisional data indicated. Year-on-year, the retail sector showed an increase in real turnover of 5.2 per cent in March.
