Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud welcomed Kuwait's proposal to update the Gulf Cooperation Council countries' security agreement. In a press statement following the 11th consultation meeting of the GCC interior ministers concluded yesterday evening, Prince Naif hoped all GCC countries would approve this proposed agreement. Prince Naif strongly denied reports that the GCC security, including Saudi Arabia, is infiltrated. He stressed cooperation of Yemen with the security services in Saudi Arabia to prevent infiltration of terrorists and said, "Yemen is cooperating but because of the circumstances and nature of the land, a large number of them may be able to infiltrate. Daily, we arrest hundreds and sometimes, they exceed one thousand and more and we return them back. Other nationalities come with them. The security agencies are active in preventing the infiltration of suspected people. If some people managed to infiltrate, they would fall into the hands of security services in the Kingdom. " With regard to the fate of the infiltrators who attacked the borders of the Kingdom, He said, "This subject is over and will not be repeated, God willing." On the arrest of more than 600 smugglers and dealers within 14 months and the sentences that will be issued against them, he said that the investigation procedures take time and deterrent sentences will be issued. With regard to security cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Iraq and the reluctance of Iraqis to hand over wanted Saudis, he said, "That may be because of Iraq's exceptional conditions."
