An Indian Army major and a trooper were killed fighting militants in India-administered Kashmir, a defence spokesman said Wednesday. The firefight broke out after the army launched cordon and search operations late Tuesday to flush out militants in Chattibandi village, about 60 kilometres north of Jammu and Kashmir capital Srinagar, defence spokesman Lieutenant Colonel JS Brar said. The clash ended early Wednesday and a search was on for the militants, Brar was quoted as saying by the German Press Agency "DPA".
