At least four suspected Muslim militants were killed in Indian-administered Kashmir when soldiers foiled an infiltration bid by the rebels on Monday, officials said. The heavily armed rebels late Sunday night crossed the Line of Control - a de facto border that divides Indian and Pakistan administered Kashmir - in the northern Baramulla district and were challenged by the army, an official spokesman said. "The militants opened fire on the troops, after which a gun-battle erupted. Four intruders were killed in the encounter that lasted till the early hours of Monday," Army spokesman Lieutenant Colonel AK Mathur said. No trooper was injured in the shoot-out that took place in the area located 110 kilometers north of state capital Srinagar, the official was quoted as saying by DPA.
