Seven policemen have been contused in Ingushetia after unidentified gunners fired from an under-barrel grenade launcher on a traffic police checkpoint in the municipal district of Nasyr-Kortov of the city of Nazran late on Monday night, a source at the SKP (Investigation Committee to the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation) investigation department for the Republic of Ingushetia has told Itar-Tass. In connection with the fact of firing, criminal proceedings have been instituted under the provision of articles listing "an attempt on the life of personnel of law enforcement agencies" and "unlawful bearing and keeping of arms and ammunition". The traffic police checkpoint, located in the area of the Ekazhev section of the Kavkaz (Caucasus) Road, was fired upon at 23:15, Moscow time, on Monday. Several shots were fired from a grenade launcher.
