Jordanian Health Minister Dr Naif Al-Fayez has highlighted the success of the separation operation of the Jordanian conjoined twins: Majed and Mohammed in Saudi Arabia. In a press statement here today, he praised the medical and surgical team which had conducted the separation operation in Riyadh, noting that Jordan does not have for the time-being the medical facility to conduct such complicated surgeries. Meanwhile, Dr Essam Al-Shireida, the gynecologist, said the phenomenon of conjoined twins is common in some nations and rare in some other nations. He noted that in Belgium there is a case of conjoined twins among every 56 deliveries conducted while in China there is one case among every 300 deliveries.
