based Al-Nadwa said President Barack Obama in his first days of rule pledged that he will do his best to open a new page with the Muslim world, and he also renewed his pledge in this respect at his historical speech delivered last June in Cairo. "But, unfortunately the words were not followed by deeds notably as regards the US stand vis-à-vis the peace process in the middle east," the paper said. "This fact was admitted by Obama himself who said on Monday that the US will never give up its diplomatic efforts as regards the Arab-Israeli dispute on Jewish settlements," the daily said. "Despite this disappointment, yet it is hoped that Obama will open a new page in Washington's relations with the Muslin world," said the paper. "We do hope Washington will double its efforts for the settlement of the Palestinian problem and will work for enhancing its economic and political relations with the Muslin world, taking into account the fact that Washington has higher interests in the Muslin world."
