The 7th Arab Media Forum was opened here today under the patronage of Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah who honored a number of Arab media personalities during the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was attended by Prince Mohammed bin Saud Al Saud and Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja. The two-day Forum themed "Media, Technology and Communication," gathering up to 200 ministers, media decision-makers, notable intelligentsia figures, chief editors and representatives of trade unions from various Arab countries, was held at Sheraton Hotel. Kuwaiti Minister of Oil and Minister of Information Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah addressed the attendees with the inauguration statement, followed by statements by Arab Media Forum Secretary General Madhi Al-Khamis and member of the Shura Council Mohammad Redha Nasr, on behalf of the participants. Following the inauguration, the Prime Minister honored several Arab media personalities, winners of the Arab Award for Media Creativity, in appreciation for their tangible contributions in backing up the Arab media. Then, the media exhibition held on the sidelines of the Forum was opened, KUNA reported.
