Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev on Wednesday ordered a state of emergency in Bishkek and three other areas after police clashed with protesters, a spokesman said. The state of emergency will be introduced in the towns of Naryn and Talas and the Chuiskaya region. It will include a curfew between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. the spokesman was quoted as saying by Reuters. The president's order has not yet been approved by parliament, he said.
