Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the cabinet session held here today. At the outset of the session, the king briefed the cabinet on the contacts and consultations he made during the last seven days with some leaders of countries and their envoys on the developments of events in the region and the world, including the telephone call he received from King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifah of Bahrain, the two telephone calls he made to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Russian Premier Vladimir Putin in which he expressed condemnation of the terrorist attack against the Moscow metro, and his reception of the US Congressman (Democrat, Minnesota) Keith Alison. In his statement to Saudi Press Agency following the session, Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz Khojah said the cabinet then was briefed on a host of reports on Arab and international developments and the Saudi stand towards them. The cabinet valued the appreciation expressed by the 12th conference of the International Energy Forum which was held in Mexico. The conference lauded the Saudi initiative to hold the meeting on energy called for by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in Jeddah in June 2008; it also welcomed the establishment of the Supreme Supervisory Group chaired by the Kingdom which submits recommendations to the 12th conference on bolstering the structure of dialogue between energy consumers and producers through the forum, and on curbing fluctuations in the energy markets. The cabinet stressed the kingdom's keenness and determination on adopting constant dialogue between producers and consumers with the aim of providing reliable energy supplies affordable for all. --More
