An Afghan civilian was killed and ten others were injured in a roadside bomb blast in western Afghanistan Saturday, while a NATO soldier was killed in similar attack in the country's south, officials said. Meanwhile, in the south-eastern province of Khost, gunmen attacked a group of Afghan engineers and local workers as they were inspecting a German-funded technical school in the capital city, also called Khost, Abdul Hakeem Eshaqzai, the provincial police chief said Saturday. The Friday's attack left one Afghan engineer dead and 11 others, including a foreign national, injured, he said. The nationality of the foreign engineer was not known, however, Eshaqzai said that he was working for a German aid organization. Separately, a group of civilians were traveling in a commercial bus in Pusht-e-Rood district of south-western province of Farah Saturday when their vehicle was blown up by a roadside bomb, killing one civilian and injuring ten others, dpa quoted Afghan Interior Ministry as saying in a statement. The statement blamed "enemies of Afghanistan" for the attack. Two more roadside bombs hidden under a bridge were discovered by police personnel, who arrived in the area following the explosion. A NATO soldier was killed on Saturday in a similar roadside bombing in a southern province, the alliance military said in a statement. The statement did not disclose the nationality of the deceased, nor did it say where exactly in the turbulent region the attack happened.
