The Ministry of Interior issued today the following statement: Further to its announcement on 29/10/1430H. that an encounter took place on 24/10/1430H. at Al-Hamra check point on the coast road in Jazan Region whereas a security patrol was taken by surprise when two persons disguised in women's clothes, later identified as Youssef Mohammed Mubarak Al-Jubairi Al-Shihri and Raed Abdullah Salem Al-Dhaheri Al-Harbi (both Saudi Nationals) managed to infiltrate across the southern border of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and shot at them on their way to carry out an imminent terrorist act, but the incident resulted in their killing without being able to blow up the explosive belts they were wearing as well as the seizure of two belts ready to be used, twelve hand grenades and money, including foreign currencies, the Ministry of Interior hereby announces that initial investigation into the incident led to the arrest of seven persons who had coordinated the entry of the criminals. The spokesman of the Ministry of Interior said that initial investigation into the incident showed that the deviant organization abroad was using elements inside the country to carry out its criminal plans. Some of them came to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia either under the pretext of looking for work or visiting the holy places or by infiltrating the border areas in order to facilitate communication with the misguided, recruit them for the deviant group, raise funds and implement instructions dictated to them from abroad targeting citizens, security and wealth of the country. --More
