An earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale shook Padang city on Monday at 2.30 am local time. The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said the epicenter of the quake was located at coordinates 1.1 southern latitude and 100.87 eastern longitude, 65 km southeast of Padang city, West Sumatra. But the tremor was not felt by many people in a number of other cities and regencies in the province, according to ANTARA.
