The Arab Labor Conference, recently held in Bahrain, has expressed appreciation for the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz of the Arab Forum on technological and vocational training, organized in Riyadh last January. The conference adopted a number of decisions including naming the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a member of the board of directors of the Arab Labor Organization (ALO) from 2010 up to 2012. The conference underlined the importance of improvement of atmosphere of work and creating suitable environment for investment as well as inspection in the field of vocational health and safety in addition to enhancing measures for prevention of vocational hazards. Meanwhile the conference called for development of educational policy at the Arab arena in a manner that enables the educational process meets the requirements of the labor market. The conference also approved the Arab strategy for training and vocational education. It is worth mentioning that the conference was attended by 20 Arab ministers and representatives of 19 Arab, regional and international organizations. The conference called for solving problems of poverty and unemployment as well as the problems of low wages. It also called for studying the impact of the international economic changes on the Arab markets.
