Under the patronage of Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Bahrain's Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa inaugurated here on Saturday the 37th Arab Labor Conference with the participation of 20 Arab ministers and 19 Arab, regional and international organizations. Addressing the Conference, Deputy Minister of Labor Dr. Abdulwahed bin Khaled Al-Hamid, who headed the delegation of Saudi Arabia to the Conference, said that the Conference seeks to find solutions to a number of important issues, including poverty, unemployment, and low wages, as well as the impact of economic changes on Arab markets. On the other hand, the Ministers of Labor in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states held here last night a coordination meeting and discussed the topics on the agenda of the Conference, in addition to a number of issues to be discussed in the meetings of International Labor Organization scheduled in Geneva in June 2010.
