Prince Bandar bin Mohammed Al Saud, the Secretary General of the Saudi Wildlife Commission, chaired here today the sixth scientific meeting of the International Forum and Exhibition on "Environment and Sustainable Development". Speaking on the occasion, Prince Bandar highlighted the Saudi regulations pertaining to the preservation of the environment. He underscored the importance of giving more attention to the environment and wildlife, calling for the importance of the environmental police for the implementation of regulations and statues pertaining to environment. Prince Bandar disclosed that a study is underway to amend the statues of the environmental protection and wildlife in a manner that makes severe penalties to be imposed on violators of regulations in this respect. He expected that the draft of the statues will soon be approved by the Cabinet.
