A 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck Taiwan Monday, the local weather bureau said. So far no casualties or property losses have been reported. The quake occurred at about 5:26 p.m. about 15.9 km southeast of southern Chiayi City, with its epicenter 14.3 km underground, Xinhua quoted the bureau as saying. The Chiayi City registered an intensity at 5, the bureau added.
