An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale hit Taiwan's Taitung in the southeast Wednesday early morning, with no casualties reported, according to Xinhua. The quake struck at 1:48 a.m. Wednesday ( 0148 GMT Wednesday), and its epicenter was 23.2 degrees north latitude and 121.72 degrees east longitude, at a depth of 27.8 km, the island's seismology department said.
